Tragic Sandwich

Food. Family. Fun.

True Love, or the Little Things

We’re going out to dinner (probably our last splurgy one for quite some time) at the Valley Inn and coming home to watch “Up” on DVD. But really, that’s nothing.

So what’s everything? Simple: all the little things that really matter. Without the little things, the big things are just empty gestures.

In the wee hours of Friday morning, I had a bout of insomnia and wound up at the computer for an hour. By the time I got back to bed, my feet were freezing. Without a word, and without (I think) even completely waking up, Mr. Sandwich slid his warm feet over to mine. You see, he knows I can’t sleep with cold feet.

Everyone should get to marry someone like Mr. Sandwich.

Happy 6th Anniversary, Sweetheart.
