So on a speedy lunchtime trip to the gym (nearly all of my trips to the gym are speedy and at lunch, but this one was extra speedy), I did 10 minutes on the treadmill, including two 1-minute running intervals (6.1 mph and 6.0 mph, respectively), a variety of free weights and weight machines, and 13 minutes including cooldown on the bike.

Go, me!

Tomorrow the world! Or something. Anyhow, I did 25 minutes (including 5-min. cooldown) with three 1-minute running intervals. I’ve been doing more than 3 intervals in that span, but today I tried something different: going faster. My walking rate was 3.8 mph for most of the time, and my first interval was 5.8 mph. The second and third intervals were 6.0 mph.

So now I’m even more tired.

I haven’t gotten back to the pool, which is sad. However, I have been hitting the gym. Lots of treadmill work–and I started using the stationary bike, as well as doing strength work with machines and free weights a couple of times a week. I’m feeling good (well, at the moment, I’m feeling a little sore), and maybe this will finally result in that weight loss I’ve been talking about for too long.
